Long time posting...

I know. It's been an unbelievable amount of time since I actually managed to write something, about 4-5 months.

Crazy.

It's been a long summer doing GA comps and I totally neglected putting anything up on my blog. Pretty selfish of me eh?

We'll get round to that sooner or later I hope.

So back to uni and after settling in had almost 2 months from september trying to set up internet. Originally going for one of the main internet providers (I won't name names) but that didn't work out so eventually had to split between my flatmates and I to activate a BT landline which cost around £120. Doesn't seem that much but it's just a simple case of BT guy coming round, putting this system into it to establish a working connection and that's it.

So that's £30 for 5 minute job.

But anyways it took long enough because we had to wait for a set date for BT to come round and then a further 2 more weeks to get O2 internet.

And now we got internet baby!

A week of internet has been such a joy. It's amazing how I really can't seem to live without it, it's pretty much a part of my life which sounds sad but true as I need it to research, look up some stupid videos, gaming, news etc.

So having internet back is awesome again.

Another thing I found to be pretty awesome is what I stumbled along just today. It's an FXshader for max which was pretty necessary for me as max has been a right ol' bastard to me and not been able to view realtime dx display of alpha/opacity maps using standard max shader. I also tried using Ben Cloward's one but that didn't apply textures correctly and it all just looked like a big ol' fuddled mess.

Not nice at all.

This was my saving grace as I literally needed to see what my alphas would look like in real-time viewport and this shader really works for me.

Thanks to "RTshader", who wrote this shader for max and tested it on Ben Mathis' "Agusturinn" model. You can download at http://www.poopinmymouth.com/

He also made a shader specifically for AMD_ATI users so if this is you then download from his site:http://rtshaders.deviantart.com/art/Agusturinn-Demo-For-AMD-ATI-102076872

Anyways, I hope to shove some work on here soon and the projects I'm doing so far for uni.

Oh yea and here's a screenshot of RTshader's test for "agusturinn" model that was originally posted on GA.

Ciao.
